Who We Are

Quizly is an iOS application that converts PDF documents into interactive multiple-choice quizzes using AI. The app is developed and operated by the Quizly team ("we", "us", or "our").

Data We Collect

We collect the minimum possible data required to operate the app. Specifically:

• PDF content — files you upload are processed by our AI engine to generate quiz questions. We do not store your PDFs on our servers after processing is complete.
• Quiz data & scores — stored locally on your device. We do not sync this to any external cloud service.
• Purchase information — handled entirely by Apple and our subscription management provider. We receive only an anonymised subscription status indicator; we never see your payment details.
• Anonymous device identifier — a randomly generated ID stored on your device, used solely to track your free trial usage and associate app preferences with your session. It is never linked to your personal identity.

Free Trial Data

Quizly offers new users one complimentary quiz generation to experience the app before subscribing. We record whether this trial has been used via an anonymous device identifier stored locally on your device. No personal information is collected or transmitted in connection with the free trial.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Your name, email address, or any account credentials
• Location data
• Contacts or photos (beyond PDFs you explicitly select)
• Browsing history or behavioural analytics beyond crash reports

Third-Party Services

Quizly integrates with the following categories of third-party service, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• AI processing — your uploaded PDF text is processed by our AI engine to generate quiz content. The content is used solely for this purpose and is subject to the data handling practices of the underlying AI infrastructure.
• Subscription management — our subscription provider manages in-app purchase status and renewal. We receive only anonymised entitlement data.
• Apple App Store — handles all payment processing in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention & Deletion

All quiz data and scores reside exclusively on your device. You can erase all locally stored data at any time from Settings → Erase All Data within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data automatically.

Children's Privacy

Quizly is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Quizly, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of the app.

License to Use

Quizly grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the application for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the app or any of its content
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use the app for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights

Free Trial

First-time users of Quizly are entitled to one complimentary quiz generation at no cost. This trial is limited to a single use per device and is intended to allow new users to experience the core functionality of the app before choosing a subscription plan.

• The free trial is limited to one quiz generation per device.
• The trial is forfeited upon purchasing a subscription (the subscription supersedes it).
• Saved quizzes from the trial remain accessible on the free tier indefinitely.
• Quizly reserves the right to modify or discontinue the free trial at any time.

Subscriptions & Payments

Quizly offers optional auto-renewable subscription plans that unlock unlimited quiz generation and premium features. The following information is provided in compliance with Apple App Store requirements.

• Subscriptions are billed to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
• The Quizly Monthly plan includes a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. Your Apple ID will not be charged until the trial period ends.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the applicable plan price.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — access is retained until then.
• Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. Quizly does not process refunds directly.
• Free features, including access to all previously saved quizzes, remain available without a subscription.
• The one-time free trial quiz generation is forfeited upon purchasing any subscription plan.

AI-Generated Content

Quiz questions are generated by our AI engine based on the PDF content you upload. We make no guarantee as to the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any purpose, including academic or professional use.

You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of quiz content before relying on it for any study, assessment, or other purpose.

User Content & Uploaded Files

You retain full ownership of any PDFs you upload. By uploading a file, you represent that you have the legal right to do so and that the content does not violate any applicable laws or third-party intellectual property rights.

Quizly does not claim ownership of your uploaded content. Files are processed solely to generate quizzes and are not retained on our servers after processing is complete.

Intellectual Property

The Quizly application — including its design, code, branding, and features — is owned and operated by Quizly and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence described above.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Quizly is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Use of the app is at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Quizly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or any other losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

Changes to Terms

Quizly reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date to reflect any changes. Continued use of the app following any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
